Le Moulin du Clapier offers charming self-catering gîtes in the Dordogne countryside, in the heart of the Périgord. Set in a restored former mill near the village of Sorges, our gîtes provide a peaceful base for exploring one of France’s most beautiful regions. Surrounded by nature and rural landscapes, the property is ideal for guests looking to slow down and enjoy an authentic countryside stay.

The mansion was built in the early 1600s and once had the function of a flour mill. The remains of the old windmill can still be found in the forest near the house. Over the years, the house has had several functions, including field hospital during the Second World War.

Our Gîtes in the Dordogne

At Le Moulin du Clapier, we offer a small selection of comfortable gîtes (La Banette, Le Viennois, La Ficelle), each with its own character and layout. From cosy accommodation for couples to spacious family-friendly gîtes, all rentals are fully equipped for self-catering holidays in the Dordogne. Guests have access to the garden and shared facilities, allowing for both privacy and relaxation in a calm, rural setting. The names of the gîtes are a reference to the former flour mill function of Le Moulin du Clapier. In fact, the gîtes have been given names of French authentic regional breads.

1) La Banette: A cosy 1-4 person gîte.

2) Le Viennois:  A cosy 1-6 person gîte.

3) La Ficelle: A cosy studio gîte for max. 2 personen and max. for 1 night.
